The Laughing Devil is more than just a comedy club, it is the best night out in New York. Whether you are watching a performance by some of the world's top comedians, enjoying one of our local draft beers, or attending a party in our unique event space, you'll be having fun.

Consistently Funny

The foundation of The Laughing Devil lies in presenting a superior comedy show from start to finish each night using only the best talent from around the world. The Laughing Devil believes that comedy is art, and art is clever - we uniformly reject tired comics looking for an outlet to test the limits of vulgarity. Our search for originality and professionalism is unrelenting, and we pride ourselves on both identifying the best of the day and cultivating future stars.

But great talent alone isn't the key to a great show. We take great pains to mix and match the different material, styles, and pacing of our professional comedians in order to ensure the best combinations possible. The result is consistency: The Laughing Devil constructs a great show every night.

Upping the Ante

The same folks who operate the Laughing Skull in Atlanta and Morty's Comedy Joint in Indianapolis, the owners of the Laughing Devil have a tremendous amount of experience operating successful and hip comedy clubs. In fact, the Laughing Devil is the only club in NYC that is owned by people who also operate clubs outside the city.

The ownership team is a healthy mix of comedians and businessmen - fusing the best features of dozens of clubs from across the country and business practices from around the world, and topped off with a level of sophistication previously unheard of in the industry.

Technically speaking, the Laughing Devil is no slouch either. The intimate environment allows the feeling of comedy in one's own living room, while offering unobstructed views from every seat in the house. The Laughing Devil employs a state-of-the-art audio-visual system, ensuring appropriate acoustics and lighting, so good that we record and produce comedy albums live inside the club.

Spend an evening at the Laughing Devil to see, taste, and experience the difference.

Q: How old do I have to be to get into the club?
A: You must be 18 with a valid ID, or 14 and over if accompanied by an adult.

Q: Do I need to arrive at the show early?
A: Yes. We strongly recommend that you arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime. Seating is limited and is available on a first come, first serve basis. Our shows frequently sell out and reservations are held only until 20 minutes before showtime. The only way to ensure seating is with an advance ticket purchase, which holds your seat right up to our showtime. If you still have not arrived after the scheduled start time and we have guests in need of seating, your seat will be made available to them.

Q: What is the cover charge?
A: Ticket prices vary from show to show. See our calendar for more information.

Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: Yes. We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Traveler's Checks and cash. Personal checks are not accepted.

Q: Is there a drink minimum?
A: There is a two item minimum in the show room, which can include food, drink, or merchandise. We have a full dinner menu (available Wednesday through Sunday). See our menu for more information.

Q: Do you serve food?
A: Yes. The Laughing Devil has a wonderful selection of dinner options, appetizers and desserts which are available in the showroom (Wednesday through Sunday) during performances. See our full menu for details. If you plan on eating dinner, we recommend you arrive early so you aren't distracted by your tasty food during the show.

Q: Can you accommodate groups or private parties?
A: Of course. Groups are welcome, but reservations are strongly recommended. Additionally, groups of 8 or more should arrive at least 45 minutes before show time to ensure group seating.

Private parties are our specialty. The Laughing Devil provides a number of party packages to fit just about any budget. Each package offers you the opportunity to select from dozens of combinations of hors d'oeuvres, entrees, side dishes, and desserts to compliment full or partial access to The Laughing Devil bar and, of course, a private performance by a regular line-up of professional touring comedians. Choose from one of those packages, or customize your own function with the help of one of The Laughing Devil Party Planners. See our private party page for details.

Q: What is the dress code?
A: Casual but presentable. Come on folks, you're in public.

Q: Are the shows vulgar or dirty?
A: The Laughing Devil is especially selective in booking its performers to ensure a standard of professionalism that exceeds industry standards. That said, while some shows are clean, many of the comedians who perform at The Laughing Devil include adult material in their acts. We love comedians who push the envelope, and our taste is typically on the edgier side of the coin; you will not see a hypnotist or a magician on our stage. The Laughing Devil recognizes that adult material does not appeal to everyone - so the best way to see if you will be offended by a comedian is to google them. If you go see a movie that you didn't want to see in the first place, who's fault is that?

Q: Do you permit heckling?
A: Sometimes an act will talk to the crowd. But uninvited "heckling" or any other effort to interfere with a performance which may be disruptive to other guests is not permitted and will result in removal from the show.

Q: Is parking available?
A: Ample street parking is available on the blocks surrounding The Laughing Devil (meters shut off at 7PM). We're also two blocks from the subway.

Q: How can I get booked to perform at the club?
A: Professional touring comedians seeking to be booked for a performance at the club should contact our booking department.

Q: Do you have new talent nights?
A: We sure do. Wednesdays, we host The Happy Hour Open Mic at 6PM (signup starts at 5). At 8PM on Wednesdays, we host The Big Thing. It's booked ahead of time - so make sure to check it out and submit. Sundays, we have our Mic-Shop where the first 12 people to reserve spots can perform (and get feedback)

Q: How can I get advance notice of shows, coupons and other great deals?
A: Visit our calendar page for information on upcoming shows and special events. And sign up at the top of any page as a The Laughing Devil VIP and get advance notice of shows, coupons and other goodies!
