Comedy Central, Writer for American Comedy Network
Darryl Knight started his comedy career in Baltimore in 1988, and toured full-time from 1990 to 1997. He featured in clubs such as the DC and Cleveland Improv, Slapstix in Baltimore, Funny Bone Comedy Clubs, Charlie Goodnight's in Raleigh, NC and the Comedy Zones throughout the south. In 1997, he started working in morning radio in San Diego, continuing to do stand up when his schedule allowed. After doing radio in large and small markets, Darryl left in 2006 to work for ACN, the American Comedy Network. ACN provided short-form audio comedy for approximately 300 radio stations throughout the US and Canada. Starting as a staff writer, in 2008 Darryl became the head writer for the service and served as the head writer until ACN was closed in 2013. Now Darryl returns to the stage with a stand-up act that is primarily topical/social commentary, hitting on everything from politics to sports to pop culture. He appeared on Comedy Central’s “Stand Up, Stand Up” in 1994, and has made many appearances on radio stations all over the country.
